So this weather is really starting to get on my nerves! Now the snow has turned to pure ice and we now live on a ice rink. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to leave the house but unfortunately tonight I had to go to work so I couldn't put off driving any longer. Now, my car is a 1997 VW Polo and I do love her to pieces, HOWEVER, she can cause me a few problems. So today I thought I would be pro-active and make sure my car would start so I knew I could get to work this evening. Thankfully she started without a problem, it was getting into the car that was the nuisance! The passenger side lock is the only one that works so I have to climb over to unlock the driver's side door. This becomes pretty difficult when the lock decides to freeze inside. This resulted in me dipping my key in boiling water and repeatedly entering it into the lock to melt the ice inside.
Now this wouldn't be so bad but I had to do this again when I actually left for work and then again when I finished work. Not only that but my windscreen was frozen on the inside as well as the out and even de-icer, that a kind customer tried spraying on my car, didn't budge the solid ice blocking my view.
Now I hate to moan, but tell me that this unbelievable palava to get in your car would not annoy you a teenie tiny bit? Thought so.
